About Leadership Winchester
Leadership Winchester is designed to promote our community by facilitating an awareness of the many facets of Winchester.
Newcomers to Winchester who have graduated from this program have appreciated this special introduction to our community. It has given them a chance to see the many opportunities that are available to citizens of Winchester and has afforded them the occasion to meet people socially as well as to make business contacts.
Winchester's longtime citizens who have graduated from this program are often amazed at just how uninformed they are. They discover what their friends actually do in our many industries and are able to put faces behind those billboards identifying the factory, hospital or school.
The Leadership Winchester program can also become an opportunity for a person to find a place in the community where they can contribute their time or talents. During each class session, we will emphasize leadership and volunteer positions in our community.
Participants are required to attend one monthly, day-long session from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. over a nine month period. Areas of study cover parts of Clark County's industry, agriculture, government, and community. Participants will visit numerous city and county offices as well as industrial and commercial businesses in Winchester. There is a $50 application fee for all applicants. If selected a $450 tuition will be billed to attendees or their sponsors. ($500 total for the class)
Participation is open to anyone living and/or working in Winchester/Clark County. Selection is determined without regard to race, color, religion, sexual orientation, sex or national origin. Class members are selected by persons outside Clark County based on information provided on the class application.
Applications are available online by clicking the "Website" button to the right. A $50 application fee must be paid to the Chamber of Commerce for your application to be considered. Please bring cash or check to our offices at 2 S. Maple, Winchester, KY. If you have questions about the Leadership Winchester program, we encourage you to contact our office by phone 859-744-6420.
